Chicago native and 2006 graduate of Columbia College Chicago, Jose Rosales has been working as a production artist/graphic designer for 5 years. During his time at Columbia College, Jose worked fulltime as a materials manager for a local construction company, interned at a local design shop on the weekends and went to school fulltime in pursuit of his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts with a concentration in graphic design. In the months before his graduation, his college professor referred him to an internship opening at a Chicago-based event-marketing firm that eventually hired him full-time.
While working in downtown Chicago, Jose gained real world experience that no school can ever teach. He conceptualized, designed and produced event related collateral such as posters, banners, backdrops, event passes, websites, web banners and ads for nationwide events. These events ranged from auto shows, car races, concerts and conferences to store openings, wine tastings and marathons. He also provided to his supervising manager a monthly status report of the department’s performance. Now he is currently working as a freelance graphic designer taking on projects such as Corporate Identity packages, web design, print design and illustration. »
